Proceeding from last month’s reading, February’s meeting will continue the discussion of Gilles Deleuze’s Cinema 1. Moving from a theoretical exploration of Bergon’s three theses on the movement image, Deleuze will now attempt to show how these ideas relate to pre-WWII cinema. Here, the abstract concepts of chapter 1 are given a concrete instantiation. But what does this mean and what do they look like?
